CHS thespians perform ‘Graceland’ and ‘Greater Tuna’

CLINTON — Theater fans are in for a treat on April 16 and 19, when the Arrow Players perform the plays Graceland and Greater Tuna.

Performances will be held at 6 p.m. for Graceland and 7:30 p.m. for Greater Tuna. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased in the Clinton High School front office in advance, or at the door the night of the plays. Seating is limited.

Graceland is the story of two eccentric women and fervent Elvis Presley fans who camp out three days before the opening of Graceland in Memphis,” said Chasidy Burns, CHS teacher and Arrow Players sponsor.

MC Singers Welcome South African Exchange Student

South Africa’s Thulani Mnisi traveled thousands of miles to the United States become one of the newest members of the Mississippi College Singers.

The 25-year-old from Johannesburg is a freshman studying voice on the Clinton campus and polishing his already strong English language skills.

After a bit of culture shock and homesickness when he arrived in Mississippi for the first time in September, “I’m grateful I’m here,” Thulani said. “The experience is very unique. This is the first time to be at a Christian university.”... Read More

New Stage Theatre, CARA partner for 'A Christmas Memory'

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - New Stage Theatre and Mississippi's largest no-kill shelter, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, have partnered together for the theatre's upcoming holiday musical.

New Stage will present Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory Nov. 29 through Dec. 16. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

For more than three decades, Clinton High School’s Attache’ show choir has welcomed the start of the Christmas season. Just weeks away, the 2012 Fall Revue performances promise to put audiences in a joyful Christmas mood.

The 33rd annual Fall Revue is booked from Dec. 5-8 at Clinton High School’s auditorium. Musical selections will include a mix of popular favorites from many styles of music including Christmas and will conclude with a preview of the 2013 competition set.  The performances begin each evening at 7:30 p.m.
