McComb murder suspects arrested in Oklahoma | Crime
MCCOMB, MS (WLBT) - A McComb man and woman wanted in connection to the murder of a man in an East McComb neighborhood last week have been arrested in Tulsa, Okla.
James Douglas McKnight Sr., and Barbara Kerney McKnight were wanted in connection to the case. They were being sought for murder and accessory after the fact to murder.
McComb police had already made one arrest in the shooting death of 35-year-old Derrick Witherspoon.
Thursday -- just more than a week after the shooting -- Alreco Rendell Hill, 22, of Magnolia, was arrested and charged with murder in the case.
Just after noon on Aug. 30, a witness called MPD to report seeing two men chasing another man, hearing gunfire and then seeing two men exiting the woods. Witherspoon, a McComb resident, was discovered dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the wooded area at the corner of Locust Street and Avenue E.
Witnesses reportedly saw a tan SUV with aftermarket rims near the scene that may have been connected to the shooting. On Monday, the suspect SUV was located abandoned in Hinds County.
