Suspect in Byram bank robbery arrested | Crime
BYRAM, MS (WLBT) - An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a suspect in the robbery of the State Bank & Trust in Byram Tuesday.
According to the Byram Police Department, Jessica Brittany Meehan, 25, was arrested at a hotel in Byram a few hours after she allegedly robbed the bank at 7375 Siwell Road.
Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, a female wearing blue jeans, a white/black paid shirt and dark sunglasses entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding money.
The note implied the woman had a weapon, but no weapon was displayed. The woman got away with an undisclosed amount of money in a gray SUV, traveling east on Siwell Road.
Surveillance images were released to the media immediately after the robbery Tuesday. An anonymous citizen reportedly saw the photos and called the police department.
Meehan's bond was set at $100,000 by Judge Dale Schwindaman.
