JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- A weekend of new and exciting activities wrapped up for outdoor enthusiasts at the Mississippi Trade Mart.
The Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza 2012 was the perfect way to start hunting season.
More than 200 exhibitors featured the latest in hunting gear and outdoor equipment.
It was an opportunity to get a close up look at Mississippi wildlife, including large snakes.
But all the excitement seemed to be outside the venue where events catered to kids.
Organizers said kid friendly exhibits and hands on activities easily helped draw 30,000 people to this year's event.
"The things that are really popular this year involved the kids like we have the retrievers, the high flying retrievers outside and the fish tub. We involve a lot of kids now with grabbling and stuff like that. Some kids have actually been able to touch the fish," said Marketing Director Tim Barber.
The Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza is in its 26th year.
