WLBT viewers donate to CARA | Pets

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Thanks to several WLBT viewers, the adoptable animals at Community Animal Rescue and Adoption will be a lot more comfortable this summer.

After seeing the Pet of the Week segment on Midday Mississippi last week, a viewer went to Home Depot and coordinated getting six industrial fans donated to the shelter.

CARA says other viewers have donated plastic swimming pools among other items after seeing the shelter’s list of needs on Midday Mississippi.

The Pet of the Week segment runs every Friday and CARA says about 90 percent of the pets featured have been adopted.

CARA is a no-kill animal rescue in Jackson. If you are interested in adopting a pet from CARA, visit the CARA website and complete the online application form.

This week, CARA is in immediate need of canned cat and dog food, bleach and 39-gallon garbage bags.
